About Me
Jacob Ideji Cybersecurity Strategist & Thought Leader Jacob Ideji is a cybersecurity strategist with over two decades of hands-on experience protecting global digital infrastructures. His journey began humbly in Lagos, Nigeria, running a small cybercafé in the late 1990s. There, he saw the real-world consequences of online vulnerabilities a formative experience that shaped his lifelong mission: to move cybersecurity from reactive defense to proactive resilience.
Now based in Dallas, Texas, Jacob brings deep expertise and a grounded, strategic perspective to the field. He holds an MBA, along with executive credentials from Stanford University in Advanced Project Management and Computer Security. His industry certifications include CCDE, CISM, and CEH.
Currently at Cisco, Jacob has spearheaded security programs for clients ranging from federal agencies to Fortune 100 companies like Verizon and Foxconn. He’s also a recognized speaker at leading forums such as Black Hat Europe and the ABWA. Jacob believes cybersecurity isn’t just a technical function it’s a leadership imperative. Influenced by strategic thinkers like Sun Tzu, Hannibal, and Clausewitz, he approaches security as both an operational discipline and a boardroom priority.
He is the co-author of Field Manual for Cyber Incident Handling and Response, a practical guide that helps leaders act decisively in moments of crisis. His mission is clear: to equip today’s decision-makers with the tools to lead through disruption not just survive it.
